angladesh is a major agricultural country. Agriculture is one of the main sources of national income and almost two-thirds of people's life and livelihood support. Therefore, the importance of land and water resources in this country is immense. Land is the basic natural resource, which is the main source of daily necessities of food, industrial products, enjoyment, health protection, etc. But due to the increase of population, unplanned use of land, our important resources are diminishing day by day. With economic progress, urbanization is increasing, the scope of industrialization is increasing gradually, due to the continuous expansion of roads, hospitals and educational institutions, the per capita land area is gradually shrinking. Important The use of these resources is largely dependent on the right plans. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure the best use of natural resources, and the best use of limited land, through a proper appropriate plan, policy. In this regard, the Land Use Policy has already been formulated from the Land Ministry.

After independence of Bangladesh in 1971, after independence of Bangladesh through a great war of liberation under the leadership of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a full-fledged ministry was formed to perform all the affairs related to the land. The Department of Land Records and Surveys, Land Reforms Board, Land Appeal Board, Land Administration Training Center and the Office of the Revenue Department (Revenue) are working under the Land Ministry. Divisional level commissioner, collector at district level (deputy commissioner), assistant commissioner (land) at upazila level, union land assistant officer (tahistildars) at the union level are engaged in the work of land related activities. Land Ministry works on land development tax and revenue collection, land management and settlement of land, water management, land acquisition and order possession, land records and survey and training of land related officers / employees etc. In addition to the land development tax revenues through the bank, reform of the land laws and rules for public interest, and rehabilitation of landless people, land zoning activities, providing land for the settlement of landless land under Char Dyledment and Settlement Project, construction and repair of upazila and union land offices, land record Modernization of the land in the shortest time is the land transfer Service delivery infrastructure development works are carried out by the Ministry of Land.
