Activities of UP

The council shall, for the purpose of performing its functions as a whole, constitute a permanent Committee for each of the following matters, namely:

A) money and establishment;

(b) Education, health and family planning;

 (c) Agriculture, fisheries and livestock and other economic development works;

(d) Rural infrastructure development, conservation , Maintenance, etc.;

(e) Protection of law and order;

(f) Registration of birth and death;

(i) Sanitation, water supply and sewerage;

(j) Social welfare and prevention management;

 (k) Environmental development, protection of environment and plantation;

(l) Family dispute resolution, women and child welfare (not applicable to residents of Chittagong);

 (m) culture and sport.

(2) The council, without the standing committee referred to in sub-section (1), may, by the approval of the deputy commissioner, constitute additional standing committees, if necessary, subject to the provisions of this Act.

(3) The Chairman of the Standing Committee elected from among the members of the council without co-opt. And the elected members from reserved seats for women shall be the chairman of not less than one third of the standing committee. The chairman will be the chairman of the committee on law and order

(4) The Standing Committee shall be five to seven members, and the Committee may, if necessary, co-opt a person as a member of the committee concerned, but the co-op member shall have no franchise.

(5) The other members are from the local public The committee shall be nominated from among the persons eligible to contribute

(6) The recommendation of the Standing Committee shall be accepted after the consideration of the next meeting of the council; However, if no recommendation is received in the Union Parishad, its due and reasons shall be reported to the Standing Committee in writing.

(7) All the proceedings of the Standing Committee shall be final with the approval of the general meeting of the council.

(8) The council may break any standing committee for the following reasons, namely: -

(a) if he can not convene a regular meeting in accordance with the rules;

(b) if he fails to give advice to the council in the prescribed time; Or

(c) if any work other than the provisions of this Act or any other law.

(9) Every Standing Committee shall meet in the meeting every two months, but may, if necessary, arrange additional meetings.

(10) The functions of the Standing Committee shall be determined by the regulations, but the functions of the standing committee may be determined in the general meeting of the council until such regulation is made.
